A homeowner out in Katy (77494) called us about an upstairs that would not hold its cool no matter how hard the AC ran. Up in the attic we found the usual story — old insulation that had settled, packed down, and stopped doing its job. Here is how the project went.
Out with the old
Before any fresh insulation goes down, the old material has to come out. We cleared the attic deck, pulled the worn-out insulation, and got a clean look at the framing underneath. Adding new insulation on top of spent material just traps the problem, so we start from a clean slate.
In with the fresh blown-in
With the deck clear, we blew in an even layer of new insulation across the attic floor and brought the coverage back up to where a Houston-area attic needs it. Full, consistent depth — and an attic that can actually hold conditioned air again.

Why it matters in Houston heat
A Houston attic can hit 130 degrees on a summer afternoon. Good insulation is what keeps that heat from pouring into your living space and running the AC into the ground. A job like this one usually shows up as a more comfortable upstairs and a power bill that finally makes sense.
